Fire and Rain Weekend 09/28/09

Saturday was a full on rain day. Sunday started that way but cleared up a little. The people of western PA are downright hardcore. Both days had some crowds. J.R. and his family showed up to whoop and hollar. Temujin was at another event so there was some slots on the Rose stage that were filled by Flourish and Fool and by myself. Not being on the program in Pittsburgh means that very few people show up. The visitors here in PA plan the day according to the playbill and stick to the schedule. Dextre Tripp was present (after his New York gig) and watched a few shows. He is a hero and a legend, so I was slightly nervous. I received some great advice from him during the Sunday night dinner.

The "Not Dead Yet" show always has me excited, living through it leaves me feeling victorious. This weekend, Jules blew his first fireballs. We pulled off the rotating dragon while blowing and juggling fire. With both Jugglers balanced and hanging off my body, I spin in a slow circle (wearing boots with heels on a slippery muddy stage) and they juggle and breathe fire. Loved it. Got some pictures to put up. In fact, I received a few CD's full of images so There will be some updating that needs to happen to my gallery pages.

The last weekend is next and on the final day, we are taking our final show up to the pipe and drum band for a jamming fire extravaganza.
